Philips Infraphil

The briefing was to develop a new design direction for the range of infrared lamps, with different versions based on a normal IR-lamp and a high-pressure IR-lamp. The lamp had to be adjustable to optimize the angle during use. A cord storage possibility should be integrated in the product. Both versions had to be produceable in the most simple construction possible, to minimize the unit cost price. The products had to be attractive for a word-wide market.

Design challenge was to create a design that was attractive, but most of all looked qualitative and safe. The solution was found in positioning the products in a sportive ambiance, where lifestyle, health and safety go hand in hand.
